NRC Industries is proud to introduce Tow-IQ™, a new technology designed to give operators unprecedented visibility into how a casualty affects truck loading before leaving the scene.
Now standard on all CSR Series rotators and coming soon to the CS Series, Tow-IQ™ analyzes multiple parameters in real time, helping operators better understand how a towing configuration impacts axle loading, vehicle weight distribution, underlift loading, and overall truck utilization. Using real-time vehicle data and proprietary algorithms, the system continuously evaluates towing conditions as the casualty is lifted and positioned. This information is displayed directly through NRC’s integrated control system, giving operators access to data that was previously difficult to obtain in the field.
Like Lift-IQ™, Tow-IQ™ features two modes. The Planner Mode allows operators to evaluate towing configurations before loading begins. By adjusting variables such as load distribution and underlift extension, operators can immediately visualize how those changes will affect truck loading and axle utilization.

The Operation Mode measures the actual load applied through the underlift and automatically calculates key metrics such as front axle residual load and axle weight distribution.

The benefits extend well beyond compliance. Tow-IQ™ gives operators a clearer understanding of how a casualty impacts axle loading and weight distribution before transport begins. Maintaining adequate weight on the steer axle and avoiding excessive loading on other axle groups are critical factors for safe road handling. By providing real-time visibility into these parameters, Tow-IQ™ helps operators make more informed towing decisions while reducing unnecessary stress on the truck and its components. It also provides greater awareness of axle loading before reaching weigh stations.
“Lift-IQ™ helps operators answer the question, ‘Can I safely pick this load?'” explains Normand Caron, Engineering Manager at NRC Industries. “Tow-IQ™ answers another critical question: ‘What happens to my truck once that load is on the underlift?’ The ability to visualize weight transfer and axle loading in real time gives operators information they simply didn’t have before.”
With Tow-IQ™, NRC continues to lead the industry through practical innovations that improve operator awareness, productivity, and safety.
